PURPOSE:
To establish criteria for selecting appropriate Camps and Conferences for all ages and eligibility.
SCOPE:
This Policy includes selection of all camps and conferences, participant’s eligibility, and cost determinations for children, youth and adults.
PROCEDURE:
· First choice for a camp or conference shall be from Presbyterian Church (USA) offerings.
· Second choice for a camp or conference shall be one designed by Chapel By The Sea.
· Third choice shall be a camp or conference that is in agreement with the Doctrine of Reformed Theology.
· All camps and conferences are open to the age levels as described by the camp/conference program offering.
· All camps and conferences are open first to Chapel participants, then to the community with the recommendation of one or more of the following: Pastor, Director of Christian Education, Music Director.
· Cost for individual participation in a camp/conference shall be determined annually through the budget of the Ministry overseeing the particular program. Should more than one family member participate in a conference, special consideration shall be made toward the amount of scholarship offered to the family. Leaders or chaperons costs will be covered as existing funds will allow. Should transportation need to be arranged, the participants shall share costs involved, including use of a Chapel vehicle. Chapel Staff shall be responsible for scheduling camps and conferences.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Christian Educational camp and conference decisions are the responsibility of the Director of Christian Education and the Pastor, with the advice and approval of the Discipleship and Fellowship Team.
