SCOPE:

PROCEDURE:

  • God’s Table is open to all that are homeless or in need in our community.
  • Volunteers are welcome from the community and other churches. Participants are also welcome to volunteer after being screened for the position. New volunteers should be trained in all facets of the operation, not simply the particular task they perform on a specific day.
  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. participants may eat breakfast, take a bag lunch with them as well as a bag of canned goods for their evening meal. Clothing, personal items and showers are available on a daily basis and haircuts are available on various days.
  • Additional services are provided on when possible – nurse, Salvation Army representatives, VA representatives and a social worker.
  • St. Vincent de Paul is available for crisis assistance in their office at Chapel By The Sea, typically on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Some types of assistance they can help with are: bus tickets, filling of prescriptions, rent and utility bills, and eye glasses.
  • All funds donated for use in the God’s Table Program will be used only to directly serve the participants.

RESPONSIBILITY:

The Beach Ministerial Association has responsibility for oversight of the God’s Table Program. Chapel By The Sea’s Parish Nurse acts in an advisory capacity to the Program.

There is at least one Program Coordinator with responsibility for overall Program Management. Daily Coordinators are responsible for daily operation.
